College of Idaho almost feels like a highQuite BrightPolitical Science
College of Idaho almost feels like a high school. Mostly everyone in the class knows each other, but that is because of the size of the class and proximity of the dorms, not campus life. We have basically no ways to meet other students, as most the clubs are extremely specific and minority-based. On top of this, it feels as if there are very distinct social groups. Everyone on the same sports teams will hang out together, and make it clear that they do not want anyone outside that group with them. I have made very little new friends since the first few weeks of school because of this, and I am a very social person.

Question
For anybody looking into the sciences, C ofBrightPhysics
For anybody looking into the sciences, C of I is not for you. Yes, they may boast about their job and graduate placement numbers and how their PEAK version of a liberal arts education produces well-rounded individuals, but in reality their science programs are ill-equipped, understaffed, and very stretched out, leaving students behind in the dust. Certain required upper level classes are only offered for one semester every other year, causing scheduling nightmares and the classes offered and required for these majors (with possibly the exception of the chemistry department) leave students without enough practical experience to get into the jobs or grad schools they apply for. I'm personally going to have to attend another university post-graduation to earn another degree with more classes and lab experience for another 2 years since my current, degree fulfilling courses are not enough to land the graduate school and job opportunities I have applied for. I have several other friends -- mostly biology and math/physics majors -- in similar situations. That being said, C of I does have excellent programs in virtually everything not science related and has a great atmosphere, but for being a school with such a strong emphasis on its pre-medicine track, the sciences in general are lacking.

Question
I am really disappointed with this school andQuite BrightComputer Engineering
I am really disappointed with this school and everything about it. The academics are not good, they offer dual degree programs but they take 5 years to complete and an engineering degree at any other school that actually has an engineering department is 4 years.

From my experience the business department is lacking depth in quality teachers and the art teacher I had for web design is absolutely incompetent in every way. The school spends more money on attracting students then they do actually keeping the students happy. Perfect example is the freshman only dorms, they are the biggest, nicest, and newest dorms in the entire campus but as soon as you leave it the rooms get way smaller and way less quality.

This campus is utterly depressing. You walk outside at almost any time of the day and there is NO ONE outside. I feel like I am alone at this school a lot of the time.

Social life. It sucks, if you don't drink then you have nothing to do on the weekends. EVERYONE drinks and parties or does drugs. Its so hard to find someone who doesn't and it's almost impossible to be in a group of students without them starting to talk about how wasted they got yesterday. I am transferring next year and I feel this was a huge waste of money and time and I regret coming here.
