Medicine Hat College (Canada)

I am a veteran, I have served in a foreign war, I was trying to get a diploma doing what I DID in theater. I was kicked out of my program in the last semester for a error in my last paper right after the withdrawal date (so no refund). I had a multitude of life changing problems going on and had spent the previous 2 days in the hospital supporting family and Pt. Advocating with and for a close relative with Brain cancer. I had come home and went to the dentist and had 4 teeth pulled, then that night I stayed up all night and wrote an APA paper spitting blood from my mouth, freaking hard to do an APA paper in a night. I had an extra reference with no quote. I erased it (the reference) after saving the paper. Apparently the quote did not have quotation marks on it so I didn't see it. I was thrown away for academic cheating/plagiarism. No respect for my experience, Veteran Status, no respect for my issues I was dealing with, no respect to the fact that I was a single parent who needed this career. I admitted it was an error... begged and pleaded to re do a paper, do extra credit, repeat the course. Nope.... but thats not the worst part. The Dean promised me if I did well on the last practical I could pass with a C mark and continue... I learned a month and a half later that was only because they did not want to upset the rest of the cohort.(my classmates) I was un-cerimoniously dumped. needless to say I am paying my student loans on a minimum wage job, lost my kid cause I was temporarily homeless after college and could not give my kid what kids want or need (now paying child support too).... and I believe I have MEDICINE HAT COLLEGE to thank. This is what the college does for veterans..
