Auburn University

Want to know my favorite time at Auburn? The entire semester I went abroad and was NOT at Auburn. If you do not already know a lot of people at Auburn, do not plan on being a part of Greek Life, or aren't an athlete, then you 100% do not belong here. It?s extremely hard to make friends here if you aren't in a sorority/fraternity or involved in sports. Depending on your major, your class sizes will be huge so you won't even start recognizing familiar faces in classes until over two years in and most people in your classes are cliqued up with people from their sorority/frat already and aren't interested in meeting anyone else. If you wear anything other than a t-shirt to class, you will definitely stand out. No one here takes pride in their appearance. It?s 100% mob mentality, and people will dress the part.

If you aren't a Christian, you will definitely be judged and pressured by religious groups. People will chase you down on the concourse to force religious pamphlets on you. The Flat-Earthers visit and have children hand out flat earth information pamphlets saying the Bible proves it, and there is an abortion graveyard set up ON CAMPUS. I?ve also witnessed non-students on campus with signs listing all the groups of people they believe are condemned to hell (Muslims, Buddhists, fornicators, atheists, etc.) antagonizing students. And those are just a few of the things I?ve witnessed in my 4 years at Auburn. Some of them have gone as far as to try to follow me to class to keep pushing their opinions on me; it's absolutely ridiculous.

The classes are of decent quality depending on your major, but if I?m being honest, you are way better off to choose a different school if you aren't a follower. This isn't a place for diversity, uniqueness, individuality, or forward thinking. It?s a place where the majority of students are white, privileged kids partying away their parents? money to ?Wagon Wheel? and hanging confederate flags on the back of a lifted truck. I have never had trouble making friends in my life, but I must say that I was a fish out of water at this place despite being white and from Alabama. I met very few people here that truly valued their education and had an interest about the world outside of Auburn, AL and football. Some people will see this and think I?m just being bitter, but I truly wish someone had typed a post like this for me before I made the biggest mistake of my life.

Alumnus Male -- Class 2000

This is a fucking terrible school and the HUB at Auburn is a shitty apartment complex they have mold, dog crap, and the management is terrible! As for the school is you're not a blonde bimbo or a frat drunk then you have shit to do here. Auburn ONLY cares and caters to its bullshit football team, I could care less about football but everyone in this damn town is a idiot gameday hive mind. You can't make friends here, the classes are boring and if you fail exams then you are really shit out of luck, no extra credit, do overs, grade curves, Nothing! And these are by far the worst teachers ever. Some of them have thick accents that you can't understand others don't put ANYTHING about the exams in the weekly lessons. I live in Alabama and this college is pure shit. Its only for upperclass rich valley bimbos and football drooling fans. It's terrible and way to damn expensive for students when the Univeristy itself makes millions off their games. Do Not Come Here and Im 9k in debt to these fuckers.
