Question
If you are thinking about attending Brenau UniversityBrightNursing
If you are thinking about attending Brenau University Women's College, I advise you to re-evaluate your choices. If you want to become a victim of harassment, racism, and unfair treatment, then this is the place to go. Brenau has a "clean" slate only because they hide the scandals that occur on campus. Drugs, room searches, students being expelled or kicked out, all of this is well hidden. Those who accuse other students, usually get a compensation for having gone to higher authority. For example, this semester, in the dorm hall above me, there was a Caucasian female student and a black female student who was the RA of the hall. The Caucasian student accused a black female student from that same dorm hall of selling weed. The security raided her room, threw her belongings around the room, and went into her personal items. The black student have evidence of the Caucasian student having bought weed, but not once did they search her room. The black student was kicked off campus just yesterday along with three other black students aftwr bwing told that they were a "threat" tot the school. The RA also had weed on her, but because she went to higher authority, she did not get in trouble and she was allowed to keep her scholarships. Once you become a target for reasonable reason, you will be constantly followed around by security to and from lunch/dinner, to your dorm hall, and your to classes. Not only are you subjected to unfair mistreatment, but your lectures are self taught. The professors are not in any way helpful. You are paying $40,000 a year to teach yourself. I came here for the nursing program only to find out how sh*t the nursing academics are. If I had known that BU was corrupt in the sens of racism, harassment, and unfair treatment, I would have never applied, much less filled out the application. Many freshmans don't stay after the first year or maybe even after the first semester. I am or more so was, a Freshman at the Women's college, but I have signed and turned in my withdrawal form. I can actually say that I hate Brenau University Women's College.

Question
I've recently finished my freshman year at Brenau.Quite BrightArt & Design Department
I've recently finished my freshman year at Brenau. I'm an African American Fashion Design major. So far the program has been pretty good, after my first year, I have strongly applied my new skills.

The food is pretty descent. There are some really good food days, then some days I'm a bit disappointed when walk in. There's also the Brenau Tea Room. The prices are a little expensive, but that's due to the semester allowance of Flex Bucks. The food that the Tea Room makes is really good! I love their burgers!

I lived in the freshman dorms on the Gainesville campus. The Gainesville campus has a very friendly environment. The professors have very high expectations of the students and the work they assign IS NOT just busy work. The assignments given are beneficial and essential to your studies and education.

It is expensive to attend Brenau, we're talking roughly $37K a year for tuition and housing, NOT including books and other supplies; but it's a warming experience. The education and the environment, it's truly valuable.

And it is primarily an all- girl school, but as I mentioned before, the Brenau experience is a valuable experience. There may not be any guys around, but trust me, education will keep you occupied. And opportunities for friendships will occur.

The Brenau Security is really good about maintaining a safe campus.
Since Brenau is big on tradition, the buildings from when the campus was first constructed many decades ago still exist, and I personally think that Brenau should invest in some renovations. This would probably be my only and biggest complaint about Brenau.

Of course, Brenau has high expectations on education and their coursework----but Student life is pretty active. Brenau is big on Greek life. Brenau offers both the NPC and NPHC. I've recently crossed into a NPHC sorority. Pink and green is on the scene!

Brenau started a competitive cheerleading squad back in Fall 2011. During my freshman year I cheered on the competitive cheerleading squad, placing 5th in the Nation at this year's NCA National Competition held in Daytona. Being a student athlete in general and specifically participating in the sport of competitive Cheerleading is very time consuming and hard work, but it was a fun experience as well. The athletics department offer all kinds of scholarships for various sports.

The fashion program started out small a few years ago, but it is consistently growing. The Art and Design program has very high expectations, like I've mentioned before, but the professors are willing to assist you along the way. Specifically for Fashion majors, Design or Merchandising, there's the Brenau Fashion Network, a club that meets a few times out of each month. BFN holds lunch and learns with local businesses to inform students on their fashion career experience. BFN takes trips to various Fashion businesses in the local area (Spanx, Initials Inc., & etc.). One thing about Brenau's Gainesville location is that it's only 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Giving students decent access to the city, which is great for networking.

Brenau is an expensive all-girl university, but I can definitely say I value the education I've have received.

Hope my review was helpful!-First Year Fashion Design Major; Student Athlete; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Brenau Fashion Network.
