The food is pretty descent. There are some really good food days, then some days I'm a bit disappointed when walk in. There's also the Brenau Tea Room. The prices are a little expensive, but that's due to the semester allowance of Flex Bucks. The food that the Tea Room makes is really good! I love their burgers!
I lived in the freshman dorms on the Gainesville campus. The Gainesville campus has a very friendly environment. The professors have very high expectations of the students and the work they assign IS NOT just busy work. The assignments given are beneficial and essential to your studies and education.
It is expensive to attend Brenau, we're talking roughly $37K a year for tuition and housing, NOT including books and other supplies; but it's a warming experience. The education and the environment, it's truly valuable.
And it is primarily an all- girl school, but as I mentioned before, the Brenau experience is a valuable experience. There may not be any guys around, but trust me, education will keep you occupied. And opportunities for friendships will occur.
The Brenau Security is really good about maintaining a safe campus.
Since Brenau is big on tradition, the buildings from when the campus was first constructed many decades ago still exist, and I personally think that Brenau should invest in some renovations. This would probably be my only and biggest complaint about Brenau.
Of course, Brenau has high expectations on education and their coursework----but Student life is pretty active. Brenau is big on Greek life. Brenau offers both the NPC and NPHC. I've recently crossed into a NPHC sorority. Pink and green is on the scene!
Brenau started a competitive cheerleading squad back in Fall 2011. During my freshman year I cheered on the competitive cheerleading squad, placing 5th in the Nation at this year's NCA National Competition held in Daytona. Being a student athlete in general and specifically participating in the sport of competitive Cheerleading is very time consuming and hard work, but it was a fun experience as well. The athletics department offer all kinds of scholarships for various sports.
The fashion program started out small a few years ago, but it is consistently growing. The Art and Design program has very high expectations, like I've mentioned before, but the professors are willing to assist you along the way. Specifically for Fashion majors, Design or Merchandising, there's the Brenau Fashion Network, a club that meets a few times out of each month. BFN holds lunch and learns with local businesses to inform students on their fashion career experience. BFN takes trips to various Fashion businesses in the local area (Spanx, Initials Inc., & etc.). One thing about Brenau's Gainesville location is that it's only 45 minutes north of Atlanta. Giving students decent access to the city, which is great for networking.
Brenau is an expensive all-girl university, but I can definitely say I value the education I've have received.
Hope my review was helpful!-First Year Fashion Design Major; Student Athlete; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated; Brenau Fashion Network.
