I would like to offset all of the negative comments in the reviews I've read about Grove City College in this thread. I looked at this site before going to Grove City and it really upset me. For a really long time, I was convinced I had made the wrong choice. The arguments in the reviews seem pretty well articulated. After being there for a year, I can honestly say I made the right decision.

My big question to a majority of the negative reviewers is this --- Why did you go to Grove City to begin with? I firmly believe that there are very little secrets about Grove City. Even when you go to www.gcc.edu, the menu bar says Grove City College-Authentically Christian, Challenging Academics, Surprising Tuition. The college is unapologetically Christian. Along with a low tuition, this is what attracts many to the school. Sure, the rules are relatively restrictive compared to other colleges but think about it --- Do you expect to go to a Christian school for instance and expect them to allow a dorm that allows both men and women in the same building ?

Having all of this been said, the rules are set out from the beginning and you should have known what to expect if you enrolled in this school. If you want to drink, have sex, party till 3 AM...don't come here. The school itself will tell you that they exist for certain types of students. Not everyone can work under these types of rules. The school never tries to pretend not to have these rules.

I personally had a great 4 years at the college. Although I have had many ups and downs and even considered transfering, I can't help but be amazed at the amount Grove City has to offer. The people are all very friendly and welcoming. It was very easy to make and keep friends.

The education is top-notched. The classes are very difficult and they will make you work harder than you ever thought you could. They really open your mind. They are firm in their Christian viewpoints, and do not give into to any of the relativist ideas that dominate so many of today's modern colleges. I took both Old Testament and New Testament course that challenges my faith while adding to my knowledge of the Bible. I joined a sorority with 30 other amazing Christian women. It's a great way to develop a more active social life. Yeah, the food isn't the best and the whole marriage thing is weird. In all honestly though, you don't have to let it get to you if you don't want to. It's all what you make of it.

Grove City offers all of this for about 15,000 a year. IF you are a prospective student, I really encourage you to look at this school. I can't describe how much I've changed for the better at GCC. It really has been such a blessing in my life. God works so much on campus. GCC is an amazing place with great opportunities...
