I will tell you flat out that IBrightPreLaw and Legal
I will tell you flat out that I did not want to go to the University of Michigan. To tell you the truth, it was one of two schools I actually got in to, neither of which was I too excited about. I chose Michigan because I had no idea what program I wanted to go into and figured that becuase they are so good at so many things I would end up in an excellent department, no matter what decision I made. I can tell you that after one year at the University of Michigan there is absolutely nothing I would change. I have met wonderful people, been challenged academically and had amazing experiences that have helped me grow as a person. The student body is diverse, I don't care what any of the previous comment-ers have to say. They come from all fifty states, over one hundred countries and from extremely diverse economic and social situations. The campus is large, and as such, no, it's not going to be the picture of perfection. Yes, there is sometimes construction, yes, the dorms could be cleaner, and yes it gets a little bit cold there in the winter. But, if you are going to let those things really bother you then you are letting meaningless, trivial qualities affect the most important decision in your life. The University of Michigan has given me more in one year than I had hoped to gain from my entire college experience and I already dread that day in May 2007 when I have to leave for good.

College was an incredible experience.PreLaw and Legal
College was an incredible experience. And while I learned a lot in class, the bulk of class was random facts that I forgot shortly after the semester was over (though I must admit I retained more than I thought I ever would). More important is that I learned how to analyze, read critically, write more effectively, and figure out what was expected of me. Those are life skills. I have to say that I learned more outside of the classroom than in lecture or section. So my advice would be just let yourself experience college, and get involved with a lot of different extracurriculars...but don't slack either!
