Drexel University Online is a rip offMar 17 2016Education
Drexel University Online is a rip off. After searching for an online program for a year. I finally stubble upon Drexel's Certification track programs. I thought this would be a great way to continue my education online while gaining accreditation from this university.

Drexel found away to tarnish my academic career and my financial stability.
After numerous attempts to contact my adviser. I finally got her on the phone only to be made aware that the grade that I had been calling and emailing about has now turned into an F.

I am now fighting for my grade to be changed.
During my last year with Drexel I was also not made aware that my students loans had not gone through after numerous conversations with Financial Aid. After finally catching up with my adviser I was told that I could not apply for graduation because there was some type of hold on my account. Upon farther investigation I found out that I did not receive funding for the last year of school and now I owe the school over $14,000 dollars.

Stay away from this school. There is no guidance and if you are a busy professional that does not have time to set up and check your Drexel email you will learn to regret it.The cost of prestige is not worth your GPA or financial stability.

Question
I recently graduated the CMGT masters program atAug 14 2015Other
I recently graduated the CMGT masters program at Drexel. I worked hard and graduated with straight A's. The problem with having an objective discussion about a program an individual is enrolled in is criticism brings you down with it. If I were to tell my employer the following, he would be much less likely to promote me, which is why I entered the program in the first place. So, I hope that this forum sheds some lights on the many problems facing the masters CMGT program at Drexel:

1. The classes are a joke. I'm not exaggerating. Ever pick up one of those self-help books while waiting at the airport and think, who reads this crap? Yeah. That's your curriculum. Classes totally lack objectivity. "Scheduling" is not scheduling. "Estimating" is not estimating. I learned literally nothing that will help me in my career as a project manager. Two years of fluff for $50,000. Not a bad business model.

2. The professors are part time academics who spend little, if any, time interacting with students. The "lectures" are pre-recorded audio or video presentations, many of which are nearly a decade old. Good luck getting a response to that email you sent out last week. In the middle of my last quarter, a professor actually went on vacation for a week. What?

3. The quality of the lectures is as embarrassing as the content. It really is bad.
4. On top of the desperately lacking academics, I'm not sure how this program is even accredited. Halfway through the program, I realized I was facing 4 BACK TO BACK QUARTERS with none of the classes I needed to graduate. That's a year. You can't make this up. No, I didn't screw up how I planned out my classes. No, I wasn't the only one caught up in this predicament. I wound up losing my concentration (project management) and graduating with "green" and "real estate" classes that were even more lacking than their project management counterparts. My employer was thrilled. "Tell me again why you're taking this sustainability BS?"5. The only reason I would consider entering into this program was if I was only concerned with getting the "MS" after my name. But I think most people are concerned with getting something out of their education by the time they go back for their masters. Especially when it's as expensive as Drexel.

Question
I wish I hadDec 28 2011Public Health
I wish I had never enrolled at this university; I was accepted elsewhere and should have accepted. Drexel is all about money, run more like a business than that of an institution. The staff is so "in love" with themselves, so unapproachable.
Question
I entered the Biomedical Engineering program at DrexelJun 20 2011Other
I entered the Biomedical Engineering program at Drexel in the fall of 2009 as a hopeful PhD candidate. Before I started my time at Drexel, I had an extremely difficult finding a professor to be my advisor let alone fund my PhD aspirations. Nevertheless, I began my graduate career.

I had no idea how difficult it would be to even get a rejection email from professors regarding advising/funding. I sent a ridiculous amount of emails to a variety of professors but got nothing in return. Nothing! I get that you may be busy with class, research, all that, but it takes about a minute to just say, "Sorry, not interested." If you plan on coming here for your PhD or Masters, be sure to be fully funded! It is difficult to find any sort of help if you are not.

The other graduate students in the Biomed program all seemed nice. We all spoke kindly to each other and helped each other out when we could. There are some students who haven't grown up, but you don't have to interact with them if you don't want to.

The faculty are okay and easy to get a hold of (when you are in their classes). They will help you and give you advice when you need it, I can't recall any issue I have had with any of the professors I have had.My main issue comes with dealing with the Biomed Office. After about a year and a half of having difficulty with funding, I decided to leave Drexel with a Masters instead of a PhD. I tried to inform the office of this, and they fought with me all the way. Constantly asking why I was switching and making it difficult for my to just leave after 2 years. Specifically, they did not inform me of specific forms that needed to be completed, applications that needed to be filled, and other little things that would have hindered my leaving. If you are coming here, find an advisor! I can't stress that enough.

Question

Don't enroll in this University if you are an International Graduate student without any funding.
Question
My professors were allNov 25 2009Education
My professors were all incredibly unhelpful. The courses I took were pretty much useless and the textbooks we read were only mildly related to the assignments we were expected to complete. These professors couldn't even practice what they preached. This program was a complete waste.
Question
The teachers are not held accountable for whatMar 31 2008School of Information
The teachers are not held accountable for what they teach. Some think they are above answering questions from students. Some teachers just take off on vacation during the middle of a term. The school is VERY political. There's no financial help offered by the University even with a 4.0. Financial Aid always says to get a loan. I definitely would not go to this school if I had it to do over again.

Question
I'm proud of beingJul 13 2005Computer Science
I'm proud of being a graduate here:

- My department is respected (ranks 50th in USNews Best Engineering Program)
- University resources and funds help me a lot. It has great research centers, especially the newest Bossone Research Enterprise Center.

Question
There is little good to say about thisJun 03 2005Computer Science
There is little good to say about this school. The campus and buildings are ugly, and 95% of the people are self-absorbed anti-social introverted freaks. You will not make good friends here. Many of the courses are trite and was a repeat of what I did as an undergrad. I'd rather take a swim in the Schuylkill River than go to this school. Don't come here because they offer you money, that's what I did and I regretted it ever since. The reason it is easy to get money is because NO ONE WANTS TO GO HERE. Avoid at all costs if you value your sanity.
Question
I will graduate this year with an MBAApr 22 2005Business - Management and Administration
I will graduate this year with an MBA from LeBow college of business and enjoyed the entire program. The faculty are top notch, and the courses were excellent. I never worked so hard in my life! I found the professors to be interested in the students coming away with a clear understanding of material presented. This is not a liberal arts party school! My only complaint is with the administration. I would still go here if given the opportunity to do it all over again!
