I was a transfer student out of the ArmyFeb 28 2016Education
I was a transfer student out of the Army. I had done some college work five years prior, but my GPA was abysmal. CUA took a chance on my decent SATs and personal statment. Im glad they did.

I got solid grades and wasn't whiteApr 21 2015Accounting
I got solid grades and wasn't white. Which therefore increased my chances to get in. Don't waste your time here, i'm transfering to UMD where there is actual diversity and chill people.

Getting was a breeze the people are so attentiveFeb 26 2015Social Work
Getting was a breeze the people are so attentive to you and make sure you get everything in so they can review your qualifications. Just have an open mind and do your research because they work fast to get you locked into the program. check the student reviews there does not seem to be many online program reviews so that may be challenging. Mostly Brick and mortar. So I wish you well because I belief in a good education.

Well, my story about getting into Catholic is quiteNov 19 2014Engineering Department
Well, my story about getting into Catholic is quite "interesting". Since my freshman year of high school I knew I wanted to be a Biomedical Engineer and I had little to no ideas of where I wanted to go. I looked on the Internet and decided I'd find ever school in the nation that had my major. Then I took my grades and SAT scores and crossed out the ones that I knew I would not get into (Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, etc.). I was an average student. I had a "high" SAT score of 1610 and a GPA of 3.72 (out of 4.0) in high school. I was top 10%, but barely. Eventually I was left with a list of colleges. Eventually I went to a college fair and decided to talk with an admission counselor from as many schools that had my major as possible. The first on the list-The Catholic University of America. The admission counselor and I clicked, we just talked and talked about CUA and the more we talked the more I loved the school. I then made time to visit CUA and just knew it was the right one. The application process was easy (I used the CommonApp). I also did an interview while I visited, but the only thing that was stopping me was the tuition. I looked up online the average cost and it was near $60,000... there was no way I could afford that. So how did I come to be here? Catholic gave me a lot of merit scholarship. They even given scholarships for belonging to a Catholic church or knowing an alumni. Even still the cost of housing was too much (especially since it is 2 years instead of the usual 1). Living in DC is not cheap, but somehow I made do and here I am. If you get a chance come visit! CUA is an amazing school!
