Eastern Connecticut State University

The ninth annual Summer Institute for Future Teachers (SIFT), a residential program for thirty rising high school juniors and seniors in teaching for the 21st century, is planned for July 4 – 22, 2005 at Eastern Connecticut State University. Funded by a Connecticut State Department of Education grant to Eastern Connecticut State University and the Capitol Region Education Council, this program is free except for an application and materials fee for Connecticut residents. Activities include observations and participation in regional summer school programs, an undergraduate course earning 3 college credits on teaching, and field trips to museums and other educational institutions.

The Cottey College Music and Dance Workshops are for girls currently in grades nine, ten, and eleven who wish to study music or dance in a college environment. Muhlenberg Musical Theatre Workshop

Muhlenberg College

The MUHLENBERG MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP is open to teens ages 14 - 18. The workshop includes work in acting, voice and movement with professional instructors.Classes are conducted four mornings a week over a three week workshop schedule, generally the last week of June and first two weeks of July. High school students working as Summer Interns are also eligible to take the class.

This one month-program offers courses for beginning, intermediate and advanced students of French, with one course in language instruction and one course in French civilization. Sightseeing excursions in and around Nice are also included. Faculty accompany the group throughout the program, which includes group air and housing.

This one-month program offers Italian Cultural History and Italian language courses while based in the medieval city of Siena. Five days of travel to Rome, Viterbo and Orvieto are also included. This one-month program in Shanghai offers a course on Chinese Civilization, plus a choice of a second course on traditional Chinese movement and drama, on food and society, on international business and on Chinese linguistics.
