California State Summer School for Mathematics & Science

Honors Orchestra Program at Michigan Technological University

Michigan Technological University Engineering School

The Honors Orchestra Program offers talented high school students who are serious about their instrument an opportunity to be an integral part of the Pine Mountain Music Festival in Michigan's scenic Upper Peninsula. This 3 week program in early July is held at Michigan Technological University, with residence in the dorms. Students participate in rehearsals and performances of an opera during the music festival, which attracts world-class singers and musicians. Intensive daily rehearsals and master classes introduce students to the rewarding world of the professional musician. Public performances are given in three cities.

MSMT High School Internships

Muhlenberg College

High school and college students may apply for full time positions with the summer company as interns in technical and administrative areas. Internships with the summer company are available in technical theatre, costume and property crews, administrative assistant and box office positions, and stage management of the children's theatre productions. Inquiries should be sent early in the year and applications are generally due by March 1. The program consists of four weeks of classes designed to help prepare Scioto County high school students for the upcoming year of high school. The students additionally participate in enrichment and cultural activities that they may not have the opportunity to participate in outside of the program. Truman created the Joseph Baldwin Academy in 1985 in order to provide the benefits of a liberal arts education to students beyond its own undergraduates. Since then the Academy has grown in size from 4 classes with 60 students to 18 classes with 350 students. The Academy provides courses in all areas of the liberal arts, including the humanities, fine arts, natural sciences, and social sciences.
