Career in Education and Human Development

A career in education could have you developing curriculum at any level elementary, middle, high or college. You could take on a role as a counselor and mentor students on their current living and future life through education. Good mechanically you could become a vocational teacher and teach wood working or auto mechanics.

Educators who hold degrees in science, technology and engineering fields are in high demand across all learning levels as technology continues to integrate into our every day life. President Obama has made it a priority for America to over the next 10 years hire more STEM educators and move America forward as a leading nation in science and technology.

What grade level to teach at?

Educators can teach youngsters as young as 3-5 at the pre school level, 5-11 at the elementary school level, 11-14 at the middle school level, 14-18 at the high school level and of course 18 and beyond at the post secondary level.

Loan forgiveness programs for educators

There are programs available to individuals who become teachers that will forgive all or parts of your student loan. Stafford loan holders can forgive as much as $17.5k of their student loan debt if they become and work as teachers for five consecutive years.
