What is Biology Pre-Health Concentration Really?

In theory what is it?

The Biology Major at PBA is a good one and one of the most popular. For those individuals looking for a career in the Health Care field the Pre-Health Concentration is favorable. You must take all of the prerequisites and keep a very high GPA to be accepted in the program. The majority of the most intelligent individuals are in this program.

What is it used for?

This Major is for people who want to work in the Health Profession for instance Doctors, Dentists, and Orthodontists

What does the major actually entail - work-wise?

The program is very rigorous and has a built in Chemistry minor included along with the required Biology courses. You will have more homework than many of the other majors at PBA but you should because Pre-Health or Pre-Med programs around the country should be thorough and difficult.

What kind of jobs do you get with it?

Most people with this major will go onto graduate school be it Dentist School, Medical School or any other professional Health Career school.

What are the fellow students like (personalitywise) in it?

All of the Pre-Health Concentration Biology Majors at PBA are very friendly and helpful. Even though in many classes the grades are curved, it is not cut throat. If you happen to struggle with one aspect of the class the other students will help you because they understand that they will struggle with another part later on.

Common Misconceptions

Some common misconceptions are that all of the people in the major are book worm nerds who just stay in their room and do homework. This is not the case at all. Some of the most social and active members on campus are Pre-Health Biology Majors.
