Not spoken for all students, but i haveAverageUndecided
Not spoken for all students, but i have met some of the most arrogant, ignorant, close minded people here. Most of the time I felt like i was surrounded my pharisees. If you aren't a cookie cutter MC student, beware. after about half a semester, the staff and high ups won't give you a second look. I don't even know where do begin with the tribes. They use "mercy" as a manipulation tool and will lie and spread false facts about you to the whole tribe if you slip up what so ever, but tell you that you are loved and are being shown mercy to your face. I know not everyone at MC is like this, but there are too many to count that were.

If you have a problem at this college you might as well find another college to go to because the Administration will not help you or even hear you out. This isn't a Christian College.

Question
Mississippi College has continually walked the line betweenQuite BrightCommunications
Mississippi College has continually walked the line between being a true Christian University and simply a believers University. As an alumni from the school, I am proud of the education that I received because it has truly helped me as I progress forward in my work. However, I had to jump through too many hoops and verbally fight with plenty of its administration when I was attending. Some of the administration are two faced, arrogant, and completely biased against students who don't particularly fit the mold of Mississippi College. During my time there, I even tried to be a part of the clubs and tribse system and I really didn't enjoy it. The only thing that made it worth going through were the individuals that I had rushed with. Those in charge of that system were completely biased against those in particular clubs and showed favortism to clubs they felt were a true image of MC. What kept me from leaving after two years was the great faculty in my department and the good friends that I made while attending. Other than that, I would have left immediately. When it concerns growing in your faith at this university, it will always be a mixed bag. They are purely right wing Christians and if you have a different mindset of Christianity; they will look down on you. Both certain students and faculty. At MC, chapel is required and honestly it wouldn't be a problem if the core concept was opening the Bible each service. I have been part of many moments when students quickly left chapel because it was profoundly ridiculous. While being at this university is not the worst time of my life, it was challenging in the sense that I had to fight tooth and nail to prove my own beliefs. Until the day MC truly starts thinking about its students instead of itself, it will remain the same type of place it is currently. If you want to come to this university to grow as a Christian, I recommend you find another university. However, if you want to come for a great education and opportunities later, go ahead and sign up, but be ready for some type of opposition.
