Let's be honest.BrightOther
Let's be honest. This school is like a junior college, it's a trade school, sort of a VoTech class in high school. You aren't challenged mentally here but you do learn skills related to your trade. I wish I had realized this before I decided to attend. There's just not much intellectual substance.

Question
Courses were about 1:3 ratio class to lab,Other
Courses were about 1:3 ratio class to lab, which was unnecessary The curriculum also had us take a computers in construction course that was useless, we could've taken computers 101 Also they had us take a drafting class which still was useful but an auto cad class would've been beneficial, also some business courses would've been helpful. Over all I give my education at penn tech a b+

Question
I'm currently in my 5th semester here @Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I'm currently in my 5th semester here @ PCT and I honestly must say I was on the fence on whether or not to go to a different school. The programs here are top-notch. I was in the Culinary Arts and Systems program for 2 years until I got quite annoyed with the labs and the attitude of a few of the professors in the program, so I decided to switch to business management (which I am currently doing now).

Campus is VERY clean and the buildings and facilities are modern, classy, and high-tech (not to mention clean). Very nice campus overall for being in the middle of a poor part of Williamsport.

Now probably onto my only major gripe about PCT: to put it kindly...the social life here is practically non-existent. Since 70%-80% of students commute, campus is completely dead on the weekends. And since this is a tech school and not a normal college, there is a huge lack of variety in activities to do on campus. Some students are very sociable but most are quite shy and never talk to those who aren't within their program.

Overall the school is very good for someone focusing solely on schoolwork and studies but if you're looking to balance social opportunities and studies here it's going to be practically impossible as there is next to nothing to do on campus. You basically have to put yourself out there and make friends on your own time. So if you're looking for great academics, then awesome - this is the school for you. But if you're also looking to improve your social life this college is NOT the place to do it. You'll have better luck elsewhere.
