StudentsReview is the largest and most influential source of uncensored insight into college campuses.

Cambridge, MA, November 21, 2004 - After four years of operation, StudentsReview, the largest provider of insider free student opinion on colleges has crossed 300,000 visitors per month, and 23,000 college reviews, making it not only the largest, but the most trusted source of free information for students and their families.

StudentsReview guides prospective students by providing answers to the questions that “students wish they had known to ask”.  Personal commentary and ratings expose why nearly 40% of existing students wish that they had attended a different college.  Investing in a college education will cost many families up to $180,000 in cash or debt.  But because of an information disconnect between campuses and families, colleges escape accountability for the services that they provide — seriously hurting students and families over the long term.

Through its website, StudentsReview collects surveys from college students, alumni, graduate students, and soon Law & MBA students of the “quality of education” at their schools, the wealth of opportunities, and whether the school is providing what it advertises.

For example, according to students, schools such as Pensacola Christian College advertise aggressively, but “lack of accreditation” means that students' post-graduation opportunities are severely reduced, more than the advertising that convinced them to attend suggested.

StudentsReview is a data collection and analysis company, and believes that colleges can learn from the anonymous student surveys just as families do.  Because surveys are optionally anonymous, students provide deeper and more thoughtful insight about campus problems than they would to a university representative.  Behaving responsibly, schools can use that insight to improve their campus, service, and education for current and future students.

Some choose not to however, placing their business interests ahead of their educational & academic charters and their responsibility to uphold free speech.  StudentsReview has been legally threatened by select schools to alter or delete valid surveys to convey a particular image.  Most schools however, behave responsibly and try to provide the best quality of service that they can to students.

“I am a senior in high school, and I think that your site is one of the BEST I have seen online.  Since it isn't just the brochure perfect things you see from the school, I actually get a more realistic hold on what the colleges are like [...] and I also recommended you to all my friends.  Keep up the amazing work!"

“I wanted to let you know that your site has been a great tool for helping to pick out colleges, plus picking out the B.S. that the colleges feed you themselves.  I also find your page source very funny and entertaining to read!  You've hidden quite a few gold nuggets in there!"
