Santa Fe has been nothing but a joyQuite BrightNursing
Santa Fe has been nothing but a joy for me. Maybe because I am an older student and don't care about "hot girls" on campus (really?) or cliques. Please. Community colleges are not party schools. A lot of students are returning to school to change careers or to learn a vocation. They have a different purpose, really.

Having said that, Santa Fe is a great school. My professors have been (for the most part) fair, helpful, approachable, and professional. There were a couple of exceptions but that's going to be at any school. My classes were a mixed bag of easy A (a couple) intermediate (most) and very difficult ( a couple of these too). You get out of it what you put into it.

This school is NOT ghetto - are we even talking about the same school?
For my part I am specifically attending the nursing program at SF because SF nursing students are actually preferred over UF students - because SF nurses get much more practical experience and clinical hours. Smaller classes = more opportunity for practice.

Question
Don't waste your time with Santa Fe CommunityBrightNursing
Don't waste your time with Santa Fe Community College, as they were known up until about 3 years ago. I've taken both my ADN and BSN at this school, and while it was once respected for vocational degrees, it has since become just another mill to suck in students and their loans. The faculty is inept, tenured, unhelpful, condescending, and not that intelligent. They see no need to assist students or even care if they succeed, as there are more behind you waiting to get in and spend their loan money. SFCC only exists now because they are the only game in town. Save your time and go to UF, USF, UCF, or even Lake City, since SFCC seems to be completely complacent in their approach to students.

Question
I was essentially forced to attend Santa FeQuite BrightBiology
I was essentially forced to attend Santa Fe as I was accepted to UF as a PaCE student.
Initially, it seemed like a beautiful campus with good teachers. Then, I realized how condescending and unhelpful many of the teachers are. They really just push us through the classes, factory assembly line diploma mill style.

So many of the students here are complete rednecks from small towns in Florida, or students from urban areas in south Florida who don't speak English. I really disliked being here, and found that even some of the more seemingly friendly students were deceptive and shallow. Not a good learning environment.
