The High School Engineering Institute is a six-day summer residential program designed to encourage students to consider engineering as a career option. Students are exposed to eight disciplines within the field of engineering in order that they may better understand the many career pathways that are available. Participants delve into such areas as biosystems, civil, chemical, biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineering; computer science; and materials science and mechanics. Students with interests in science and math are especially encouraged to attend. The instructional staff is composed of faculty members and graduate assistants at Michigan State University.

High School Honors Science, Mathematics, and Engineering program

The HSHSP is a 7-week, national residential research program for rising juniors and seniors in HS. Students conduct full-time research under the guidance of a research mentor and explore many facets of careers and college in a supportive setting.

Women In Engineering

Women In Engineering (WIE) Summer Residential Program is desinged to encourage high school women to consider engineering as a career option. This program provides many young women the opportunity to explore a variety engineering fields, and to participate in practical, interactive, and theory based application experiences. This is an 8-day academic intensive program targeted for women entering in the 10th-12th grade by fall. The courses offered are Mathaphysics (math and physics), Unigraphics, C++ programming, short-course in the nation's first Wireless Integrated MicroSystems (WIMS), and women in engineering seminar.

Wireless Integrated MicroSystems for TEENS

The Wireless Integrated MicroSystems (WIMS) for TEENS Summer Residential Program is desinged to be a catalyst in developing students who are motivated and well prepared to choose careers in science, math, and engineering fields, specifically in WIMS. The program encourages boys and girls to study engineering; focus on cutting edge technology; desing and implement research-based experential WIMS curriculum; provide an academically rigorous schedule to maximize living and learning experiences; attend to students' academic, professional, and personal needs in a safe learning environment; create pre-college research opportunities; provide a climate that ensures young people are supported to reach their fullest potential.
