% Still in Field by Major

This list shows the spot rate of alumni who stayed in their field after graduation for each major, obtained from the 27,876 alumni who have taken our survey. Students leave their "field/major" for a number of reasons -- usually insufficient salary, job satisfaction, or employment rates.

The number of surveys, years, major, motivation levels and tenacity of the reviewer all play a role.

Not all the numbers are statistically significant -- they are generated from varying survey data -- use your best judgement

More: All Majors Still in field ??? A high "got out" percentage can be interpreted a couple of ways -- for instance, perhaps the major is a great stepping stone to becoming a totally different career -- like a doctor.
